Anthony Paul Diehl, Esq.
Founder and Principal Attorney, APD Law
Anthony Paul Diehl represents consumers and debtors against banks, debt collectors, lenders, and loan servicers. He founded APD Law in Irvine, California, to hold creditors accountable when they break the law and to give individuals and families a fresh start through bankruptcy.
Mr. Diehl litigates claims under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, the Rosenthal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, the Fair Credit Reporting Act, the Telephone Consumer Protection Act, and California's Unfair Competition Law. He files Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 cases and prosecutes adversary proceedings against creditors who violate the automatic stay or the discharge injunction. He also handles mortgage and foreclosure disputes, including emergency restraining orders to stop trustee's sales. He has litigated against many of the nation's largest banks and debt collectors.
He appears in California Superior Courts and in the federal district and bankruptcy courts of California, Texas, Indiana, Oklahoma, and Michigan. He has presented webinars on foreclosure injunctions, RESPA and TILA litigation, and FDCPA, TCPA, and Rosenthal Act claims.
Before law, Mr. Diehl served as an Air Traffic Controller with the Federal Aviation Administration and later worked in mortgage business development. That work sharpened his judgment under pressure and his command of lending practices.
Mr. Diehl volunteers with the Credit Abuse Resistance Education (CARE) Program of the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of California and with the Legal Aid Society of San Diego. He belongs to the National Association of Consumer Bankruptcy Attorneys, the Central District Consumer Bankruptcy Attorneys Association, the San Diego Bankruptcy Forum, and the Orange County Bankruptcy Forum.
Family comes first for Mr. Diehl. He and his wife are raising their daughter, and the three share one guilty pleasure: Disneyland.
